"Join The Dots"
Megan first came to the attention of the wider world in 2011 following the release of her critically acclaimed debut album “Making Waves” which saw her songs played on national and regional radio and playlisted on BBC Radio 2. She has since played live in all corners of the UK and is a regular performer at all the bigger UK music festivals; Glastonbury, Cambridge, Larmer Tree, Wilderness and Secret Garden Party among them.
She first came to the notice of the folk fraternity when she won the BBC’s Young Folk Award in 2009 and was nominated for their Horizon Award in 2012. Her music is clearly rooted in folk but it has seen her put her own dark yet youthful slant on a medium which has found a place on the mainstream map through the nu-folk/alt-folk revival.
She writes successfully with and for other artists and writers, and this has contributed to her development and growth as a songwriter, the real fruits of which can be heard clearly in her own recordings.
The last record “Head Heart Hand” (2015) is an altogether maturer affair than her debut, where depth and layers abound and her latest album “River”, released late in 2017 is an astounding piece of work. Here is one track from that.
